Jenny Devereau from Staarvey Farm

The Devereau's began growing pot grown herbs on their farm near Peel on the Isle of Man’s west coast in early 2006, selling them at local farmers markets, along with a selection of vegetables and salad crops. In just a few years they increased their range and now supply over a hundred herb varieties, and many pot grown vegetables, all of which are certified as organic.

However, they don’t simply grow herbs but also put them to good use, starting with a wonderful range of herb jellies and salts made using their own herbs, and elderflower cordial using wild elderflowers. These proved so popular that Stephen and Jenny were encouraged to extend their range to include jams, marmalades, lemon curd, chutney, spiced and fruit sauces, mull syrup and mincemeat. Local, seasonal produce is used wherever possible, and a high percentage of organic ingredients, and they’re always keen to hear from anyone who has a glut of local fruit!
