Sheila Gawne from The Farmers Den
The Farmer's Den started as a small operation eleven years ago when Sheila Gawne began picking daffodils from the farm and selling them at the farm gate. From what started as a small avocation very quickly evolved, and one of the farm's outbuildings was soon converted into a small shop where Sheila sold anything that was growing in vast quantities. The business's produce is now extensive, and every season brings a new selection of colourful, tasty vegetables to their farm shop.
Along with their home grown vegetables, Sheila makes and sells homemade bread, cakes and seasonal preserves and chutneys, all of which can be purchased at the various 'Isle of Man Farmers' Markets' for which Sheila is Chairperson. She believes that the Manx public are now within easy reach of the best quality local produce, and is passionate about getting people to "taste the difference" between freshly grown and store quality goods.
