Presence of Mann was opened in April 2010 by Suzanne Cubbon, with the help from two very good friends, Kathy and Annie. Suzanne has a love of everything connected to the Isle of Man, having published two books, Manx Inns (a pub crawl through history) and Manx Glens (a stroll through history), Suzanne decided to expand her interest by sourcing and selling Manx books and gifts. The ideal premises came up within the Laxey Woollen Mills complex where the gift shop is situated at the entrance from the car park.
Selling a wide range of Manx books, greetings cards, exclusive hand made crafts by "Crafts by Kathy", quality gifts and tourist souvenirs, the shop is expanding week by week as Suzanne sources more and more Manx goodies.
Laxey Woollen Mills is a family-owned business and is proud to be the last working woollen mill on the Isle of Man. The Mill is forming itself into an exciting Craft Centre with major renovations being undertaken to its outbuildings. The Mill is also home to a wood craftsman, a craft tea room, an embroiderer, a weaver and the "Hodgson Loom Art Gallery". All the old looms can still be seen as well as the new modern one which produces the Laxey Manx Tartan.
Open Mon - Sat 9am - 5pm
