The Three Legs of Mann, the Manx National emblem, a Triskellion. One of the earliest examples of the 3 legs can be found in Maughold on a standing stone cross in the church grounds. Speculation says that the legs originated from Sicily, as their emblem is very similar to the Manx one. It is also described as an ancient sun sign, and has been linked to a cross and the German Swastika. The legs are usually accompanied by the Latin motto “Quocunque Jeceris Stabit” which translated means “Whichever way you throw, it will stand”.
Presence of Mann has a huge selection of Isle of Man 3 legs gifts, presents and souvenirs. |
