Nigel Thompson, Cabinet
maker, from Manxbox, specialises in woodwork of a demanding and hopefully
interesting nature. Nigel, is an 'adopted' Manxman, born in Lincolnshire but resident
in the Isle of Man since 2001. He first started working with wood while
he was at school and then progressed to studying creative design at
Loughborough College, specialising in cabinet work and jewellery making.
He now combines skilled traditional techniques with creative flair to produce
distinctive woodcraft items under the banner of 'Manxbox'. Specialising in
bespoke kitchens and furniture, Nigel loves working with oak in particular. The
Manxbox workshop is situated in Laxey on the bank of the Laxey River in the
Isle of Man.
We sell a selection of Nigel’s smaller goods
such as his famous clocks.
If you have a special item that you wish to have
made then you can contact Nigel direct to discuss your ideas. Don’t forget to mention you saw
his products on the Presence of Mann website.
